Objective of the Event: The purpose of the workshop was to make the students aware of the Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Correction) Act, 2013 and forms of sexual harassment and their harmful effects on mental health and well-being according to Letter No. 16/DLSA/Gautam Budh Nagar dated February 16, 2024.

Participating Students: Total of 120 students of BA.LLB, BBA.LLB, and LLB

This awareness program was organized by the Legal Aid Committee of Maharishi Law School. It was organized under the guidance of Prof. Dr. KB Asthana, Dean of Maharishi Law School, Dr. Amita Rathi (Dy. Dean), Mr. Vikas Sharma (Assistant Professor). Mr. Arun Kumar (Assistant Professor), Ms. Prabha Tripathi (Assistant Professor), and Mr. Ketan Kumar (Teaching Assistant).

The workshop started with the felicitation of Guest Advocate Adya Mishra by the Dean of Maharishi Law School.

 The workshop was held on the topic "The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013".

The factors discussed were physical acts, sexual favors, exposure to harassment by clicking photos, inappropriate touching, and verbal acts, as well as the landmark cases of Vishakha & Ors. v. State of Rajasthan & Ors. and Mrs. Rupan Deol Bajaj & Anr. v. Kanwar Pal Singh Gill & Anr.

The speaker also shared her views on the prevention and remedies for aggrieved women subjected to sexual harassment at the workplace.
